Sinatra
DOB 10/01/2020, 60 lbs
Sinatra is a fully mature adult dog in her prime years—physically strong, mentally steady, and typically well past the chaotic stages of youth.
Behaviorally, at 5 years old she is generally well-balanced and mature. She understands routines, expectations, and household rules much more clearly than a younger dog. She is calmer indoors, with energy that is more controlled and predictable, though she still enjoys daily exercise and activity.
Sinatra is often deeply loyal and closely bonded with her family. This mix tends to produce intelligent, protective, and highly aware dogs, so she may be naturally watchful of strangers while remaining affectionate and steady with people she trusts. She is usually confident rather than anxious, and her responses are more thoughtful than reactive.
She still needs regular physical exercise and mental stimulation—walks, structured play, or tasks that engage her mind—but she is less demanding than in her younger years.
Friendly with smaller dogs. Fully vetted, on heartworm/tick/flea prevention meds, and spayed.
Elijah
DOB 4/1/2025, 47lbs
Elijah is a fully vetted blue tick coonhound who is ready to meet his forever person.
Elijah curious, easily distracted outdoors, and prone to following interesting smells without much hesitation. Training is still very important at this age because he’s smart but can be stubborn or independent.
He tends to be playful, social, and affectionate with his people, though he may also have bursts of high energy where he needs running, tracking, or structured exercise. Without enough activity, he can get vocal (coonhounds are famously “talkative”) or restless.
Overall, he’s in that “teenager” phase: growing into his body, testing boundaries, full of energy, and learning how to channel his strong hunting instincts into good behavior.
He is friendly with other dogs. Fully vetted, on heartworm/tick/flea prevention meds, and neutered.
Luke
DOB 4/1/2025, 47.2 lbs
Luke is a blue tick coonhound mix. LUKE’S coat is short and sleek, and his long ears and expressive eyes give him a classic hound look. He may already be close to his adult height, but his chest and overall strength are still building.
Mentally and behaviorally, this age is often the “testing limits” stage. He’s highly scent-focused and can become completely absorbed in tracking interesting smells. Outdoors, he may pull on leash or try to follow his nose rather than commands unless training is consistent.
He’s typically very energetic and needs a lot of daily exercise—running, long walks, or scent-based games. Without enough stimulation, he may become creative in finding his own entertainment.
Despite the independence, he’s usually affectionate with his family and enjoys companionship. He can be goofy, social, and eager for attention, but still needs structure to balance his strong instincts.
He is friendly with other dogs. Fully vetted, on heartworm/tick/flea prevention meds, and neutered.
Liberty Belle
DOB 2/20/25, 68 lbs
Liberty is a young, energetic adolescent dog who’s just starting to grow into her adult body and personality.
At 1 year old, she’s still very much in the “teenager” stage. Liberty is playful, curious, and full of energy, sometimes acting before thinking. She may jump into situations excitedly, especially when meeting people, other dogs, or exploring new places. Training is starting to stick, but she still benefits from consistency and patience.
Temperament-wise, this mix often produces a very social and people-oriented dog. Liberty is affectionate, eager to please, and strongly bonded to her family. She might also have bursts of excitement or enthusiasm that need redirection, especially without enough exercise.
She needs regular physical activity—walks, playtime, and mental stimulation—to stay balanced. Overall, Liberty is a lively, affectionate young dog with a big personality --friendly, energetic, and learning how to channel her enthusiasm into good manners and focus.
She is dog friendly - No cats or birds. Fully vetted, on heartworm/tick/flea prevention meds, and spayed.

At this age is a big transition period. He’s usually smart, alert, and very aware of his surroundings. He may still have bursts of puppy-like energy, but he’s starting to show more maturity and better focus in training. However, he can still be easily distracted, especially outdoors.
Personality-wise, he’s often loyal and attached to his people, sometimes showing protective instincts typical of shepherd-type dogs. He may be friendly but also watchful, quickly noticing changes in his environment. He usually responds well to structure and routine, but needs consistent training and mental stimulation or he can become bored and restless.
He is friendly with other dogs. on flea/tick/heartworm prev meds, and neutered.
Amber
DOB 01/01/2020, 7lbs
Amber is shy slightly older Chihuahua and is a small, delicate companion dog with a more reserved and cautious personality shaped by age and experience.
You might notice a slower, more careful way of moving, and a tendency to seek warmth and soft resting spots. Her eyes often appear very expressive—watchful and a bit wary of new situations.
She shows as hesitant around unfamiliar people, loud noises, or new environments. She prefers staying close to one trusted person and can be slow to approach strangers. Sudden movements or busy settings might make Her retreat, hide, or seek comfort.
Despite the caution, She is often deeply loyal and forms strong attachments. With familiar people, She is affectionate, and very devoted—often enjoying being held or sitting nearby. She tends to value routine and predictable environments, where they feel safe and in control.

Morgan
We all know there’s nothing better than snuggles from a kitten or puppy. Our community loves providing new homes for these younger animals, and they often have the shortest length of stay in local shelters/rescues.
But that also means older animals may be overlooked – and they’re equally ready to be your new best friend.
Morgan is just that, an older gal who deserves her own place to call her own.
Morgan had her vetting visit yesterday ( 2/23/26) she is utd on her vaccines, spayed, she received the 1 year pro-heart heart worm injection, 3 month Bravecto, however she is heartworm positive. We are in process of deciding what treatment options we will pursue. Do not let this change your mind about this wonderful girl..if you are interested in Morgan please fill out the adoption application.

Mandy
DOB 6/18/2025, 31 lbs
Mandy is still very much a young adolescent dog—physically nearly grown in height, but mentally still developing confidence and emotional stability.
Behaviorally, shyness is a key trait at this stage. She may be hesitant around new people, sounds, or environments, often observing first before approaching. Sudden movements or loud noises might make her retreat or seek comfort from a trusted person. She tends to feel safest in familiar spaces and with consistent routines.
Despite her shyness, she’s intelligent and very aware of her surroundings—typical of shepherd-type dogs. She may bond strongly with one or a few people and show deep loyalty once trust is built. In comfortable situations, she can be playful, gentle, and affectionate, but she may take time to “warm up.”
she still needs patient socialization, positive experiences, and calm encouragement rather than pressure. Short training sessions, gentle exposure to new environments, and reassurance help build her confidence.
She is friendly with other dogs. Fully vetted, on heartworm/flea/tick meds and spayed.
Daisy
DOB 4/1/2025, 36.4 lbs
Even though she’s smaller, she still has the classic coonhound traits: strong scent drive, curiosity, and a love for exploring. She may be quick on her feet and very agile, especially when following a scent trail or playing outside.
In the home, she’s often affectionate and people-oriented, enjoying attention and companionship. She may be a bit more sensitive or responsive than larger or more dominant coonhounds, but still independent-minded at times.
She needs regular exercise and mental stimulation—especially sniffing games or walks where she can explore safely—because her instincts are strong even in a smaller body.
Overall, she is a mix of gentle personality and determined hunting instincts: compact, energetic, and deeply driven by scent, with a friendly and loyal nature.

Convinced that Thor deserved a special place in someone's heart and home, the sanctuary team refused to let this little 10-week-old bundle of energy meet a tragic end. Thor exudes unwavering confidence and limitless enthusiasm, reveling in the sheer bliss of running, jumping, and splashing in muddy delights. Xena
DOB 8/25/2025, 40 lbs
Xena is incredibly good-natured and sweet. She loves other dogs, and she's very gentle and patient. Because Xena has spent most of her time around other dogs, humans can be a little tricky for her to understand. She loves to be pet and to play, especially chase (so long as she's the one chasing YOU)! But, she is a bit baffled by the way humans move and communicate sometimes which is a little startling for her.
She has the sweetest little wagging tail that she waves around when she's unsure, just to let you know that she's friendly and sweet, even if you're a really weird human and she hasn't figured you out just yet. We are hopeful to rehome Xena with a family that will be a lot of fun! But also know when to slow down and let her adjust to new things. If that sounds like you, come and meet her! She's eager to have a yard to play in.
Spayed 5/8/26, UTD on vaccines
Brian
DOB 6/25/2019, 67 lbs
Brian looking for a fresh start after the loss of his owner. He’s neutered, fully up to date on vaccinations, and currently being treated for heartworms with doxycycline. Despite everything he’s been through, Brian remains active, very smart, and full of life.
He’s house trained and gets along great with other animals, making him an easy addition to a multi-pet home. Brian absolutely loves being outside, whether it’s exploring, playing, or just relaxing in the fresh air., he can’t swim* While his experience with children is unknown, his friendly nature suggests he’ll likely do just fine with proper introductions.
Brian is the kind of dog who bonds deeply and would thrive with someone who can give him the stability and attention he deserves.

Say hello to Nova.
Isn’t she just lovely!!!
Nova is a petite husky mix weighing in at 36 pounds.
We recently welcomed Nova to the sanctuary as a owner surrender to our county shelter.
We dont know anything about her background other than she is a lovebug.
During her exam at our vet, we discovered she is heartworm positive and of course we are treating her for this. She will soon be spayed. In 30 days she will be re-tested to see how the Doxy is treating her. Then we will make the decision to either do the in hospital treatment, which is very expensive or do another round of doxy.
During this time of treatment, Nova will remain a resident of the sanctuary until she is spayed and her heartworm treatment has finished.

Dixie
Dixie is a pitbull female who came into my care Nov. 2023. She was an owner surrender along with several other dogs that went to the Polk County Shelter 6/30/2023. I fostered Dixie in hopes she would find the right home ( 11/2023)
Dixie tested heartworm positive and started doxy around Feb 2024, only the first treatment was given. Dixie was taken for her spay to DeHart but they would not spay her due to her being overweight.
Nothing else was done to or wirth Dixie and I decided to adopt her from ALM August 2025 to make her a sanctuary dog.
